World Aids Day - 1 December
A Rainbow of Cultures
How it works is that each class gets to pick a culture say "The Zulu's" and then they have to dress in traditional Zulu costume, do a short performance and serve food of this culture. In the performance, they can sing, dance to a short play or even a poem.
Science, Drum majors and School Choir
A Science expo, Drum majorette competition and School Choir might seem like 3 very different activities but for the kids as Likhweti Primary School they took part in all 3 activities very enthusiastically. As they say variety is the spice of life and the difference between a good school and a great school.

A step in the right direction - Prefect Training
South Africa is famous for producing influencal leaders like Nelson Mandela, FW de Klerk and Bishop Desmond Tutu. All great leaders have to start somewhere and that's why Likhweti had a prefect day to focus on the prefects goals to become great leaders one day.
The prefects went away on a team building day where they learned about leadership, communication and problem solving. They also did fun activities like sliding down from a three and having a braai.

Likhweti Sport day
Athletics is a very popular sport at Likhweti Primary School. The kids love to take part in short distance, relay and high jump the most. The school doesn't have its own sport field so the learners have to practice in the dirt road in front of the school.
Since 2006, the new principal has made arrangements with a nearby Sport field for the school to use during their Sport day. This year was a raging success and the students wore their new sport uniforms proudly. Parents come from wide and far to support their kids on this special day.
